LIS and VPL Postpone League Contests
"Low-Risk" sports to begin competition October 1 at the earliest
The Virginia Independent School Athletic Association (VISAA) announced on July 24 that no state championships will be held for the fall 2020 season. On July 28, the League of Independent Schools (LIS) and the Virginia Prep League (VPL) announced that no interscholastic competition would occur before October 1, and only initially in sports considered “low risk.”

Trinity, a member of the LIS (girls athletics), VPL (boys athletics) and VISAA (state governing body), supports each statement and will not be participating in any interscholastic league play until at least the 1st of October. The school will need this time to focus on safe returns to the classroom and effective reviews of protocols and procedures.
Trinity remains committed to continue to offer our student athletes a sport specific athletic experience this fall. Guiding students to develop their talents and strengthen their character through physical activity and competition is an important component of our mission. We will continue to offer football, boys soccer, girls cross country, boys cross country, field hockey, girls tennis and volleyball as fall options.
A modified practice, conditioning and skills-instruction schedule, adhering to safety guidelines, is being developed to begin during the scond week of classes.
