The IB Diploma Programme emphasizes a unique mix of intellectual challenge, intercultural understanding and respect, and independent research. The program academically prepares the students for the rigors of college. Completion of the full Diploma Programme or of individual IB courses can also give students advanced standing in college and an advantage in the college admission process. The IB diploma candidate takes six IB tests in the following subject areas: English, History, World Language, Math, Science and an elective. In addition, each student writes a 4,000-word essay and fulfills an extra-curricular and community service requirement. A valuable component of the program is a course called Theory of Knowledge, which teaches how knowledge is acquired and validated.
Each year, Trinity awards a full, four year merit scholarship to a rising freshman.
