Technology

Explore... Investigate... Analyze... Create... Design... Evaluate...

At Trinity Episcopal School, the Technology department embraces our role in educating learners and preparing them for the 21st century. We understand that the effective use of technology supports the development of process skills such as flexibility, adaptability, critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, communication and collaboration — all of which we deem as essential to our students’ success in a rapidly changing world. As a result, we invest the time, training, and guidance into ensuring that our students are prepared for the challenges of the future and are confident and knowledgeable about the range of technology tools that can assist them in making appropriate choices in their lifelong learning.

From the time that they set foot on campus, Trinity students are given opportunities to explore, investigate, analyze, create, design and evaluate issues using the technology tools we provide. All students receive a MacBook Air computer to use for the duration of their Trinity career, and are able to bring their devices home with them to assist with homework and learning outside of the classroom. The devices come equipped with software to filter content and enforce policies to ensure safe and secure use of the devices on and off campus. We are proud that our 1:1 laptop program ensures equity in the classroom and allows us to better serve the diverse learning needs of our students.

Exploration and Innovation

Through classes such as Titan Prep and Exploring Engineering, students are able to feel comfortable using technology in ways that will ensure they are successful here at Trinity and beyond. Students can further their exploration of technology with hands-on project-based classes in programming, computer science, game design, robotics, innovation, design thinking, and media creation. They can also visit the Innovation Lab, which provides students with opportunities to explore their interests in technology and find creative ways to apply their knowledge across multiple disciplines — from using a laser cutter to create a wind turbine to power a greenhouse in science, designing and building a model A-frame house in math, to 3D printing custom props to use in a theater production.
We invest the time, training, and guidance into ensuring that our students are prepared for the challenges of the future.

Advanced Tools and Support

Each classroom here at Trinity is outfitted with some of the latest technology — from interactive Brightlink projectors to Apple TVs and monitors — and educational software is distributed to laptops through our Self Service application. Should students have a technology need, on-demand technology support is provided through our on-campus help desk and support ticketing system, and all Titans have access to a Knowledge Base with tutorials on how to troubleshoot common computer problems or use new and innovative software. At Trinity, our goal is to prepare students to be lifelong learners who are skilled in accessing and processing information, confident in their ability to use technological tools, practiced at solving complex problems, capable of being creative and innovative and able to communicate with others globally.
Technology, Research & Innovation curricula are integrated into all subjects, across all grade levels to best prepare our students with future-ready skills needed to be successful at Trinity and beyond.
