Ceramics Open Studio

Have you ever wanted to make your own bowl?! What about your own coffee mug?!  Maybe you have just always wanted to try wheel throwing or hand building?! Or maybe you want to push your skills to the next level!?! Experiences of all skill levels are welcome to participate in this week-long open studio hosted by Trinity Ceramics Teacher and local artist Molly Sanyour! Throughout the week you will begin by planning and sharing your ideas and your goals for the week. Next you will have time and instruction to develop and create your individual projects. By the end of the week, your pieces will be ready to fire off in the kiln and will be ready for pick up the following week.

About the Instructor

A graduate of both Trinity and James Madison University, Molly Sanyour ’01 has been teaching ceramics at Trinity since 2014 where she specializes in teaching the fundamentals to beginner students, with no previous experience, skills or knowledge of clay, and transforming them into passionate ceramic artists who are making art to be proud of! She creates and shows her own work at the VMFA and Quirk Gallery gift shops and most excitingly, created a butt mug seen with Lizzo from Dove Campaigns to Vogue Interviews! Outside of Trinity, she teaches to world wide audiences through Instagram, online ceramics membership programs, and on platforms like Skillshare and Ceramicon.
