Ali Moriarty is in her 15th year teaching Art in the Richmond area. She is from Long Island, NY and attended art school at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. There, she studied Fashion Design, earned an Associate’s Degree in Display & Exhibit Design and a prestigious Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging Design, where only 25 students per year were selected into the program. Working in the toy industry for a few years, Ali decided to go back to school to pursue another passion of hers: Art Education. Ali earned her Master’s Degree in Art Education from Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. In 2006, an opportunity presented itself for Ali to move to Richmond to begin her career as an art teacher in Chesterfield County. Since then, she has taught Middle School Art as well as the more concentrated discipline of Drawing and Painting at the High School level. If you don’t find Ali in the studio at Trinity, it’s a good chance you’ll find her and her daughter enjoying and drawing the art at the VMFA or eating and shopping in Carytown!
