Senior Chapel

Selected seniors reflect on paths that led them together as Titans
Each year, the last Chapel of the school year is set aside for the senior class. With the whole school and parents in attendance, seniors process in, share memories and enjoy a slideshow commemorating the end of their time at Trinity.

This year, five seniors stood at the podium in the Estes Athletic Center to reflect upon how they discovered their path and to offer advice for their younger peers.

Jackie Milley spoke first, thanking her teammates on the swim team for making each day fun. “I learned that you need to surround yourself with the right people,” she said. “That is why I love swimming here. The group of people I was with everyday after school were the best.”

Marshall Rotella told underclassmen not to be afraid to fail. “Branch out and try new things,” he said. “Coming into Trinity I thought I was a basketball player... I picked up a lacrosse stick for the first time freshman year and have never looked back.” Rotella also reflected on Trinity’s impact over his high school career. “No one in this room is the same person they were four years ago,” he said. “As we experience new things and are challenged in new ways we grow as a person.”

Sam Strange remembered her first “Titan for a Day” visit, while still in 8th grade. “My mom picked me up, and the second we got in her car, I looked at her with tears in my eyes and said ‘This is where I want to be.’” From that moment, it didn’t take her long to find her path at Trinity. “I had my first ceramics class with none other than Molly Sanyour. I went home that day and said to my parents, ‘Guys, I think I found my thing.’”

Daniel Majikes also found his path with the guidance of Trinity’s supportive teachers. “They are willing to go the extra mile to help students all the time,” he said. “That kind of dedication normally only comes from parents, but Trinity has teachers that care about your success… It’s a little cheesy, but sometimes I really feel like some teachers can act like a second support group, a home away from home, as ‘Trinity parents.’”

Sally Snead, reflected on finding her own path amid the footsteps laid by her family full of Titans. “Now understand that everyone's four years are unique to them, and no one else,” she said. “I have been within this community since the day I was born, and saying goodbye is the most-bitter sweet moment I have ever felt.” She concluded: “To all of you sitting in the bleachers, soak in every moment and every opportunity you have… nothing is like Trinity, and nothing will ever come close to the friendships, lessons, and experiences that you will have simply by walking these halls.”
