Alumni return for a spirit-filled double-header of basketball games, complete with a special halftime ceremony.
This year’s installment of “Titan Hoopla” featured two home varsity basketball wins, stands packed with alumni visitors and a special halftime ceremony honoring the historic field hockey season.
The Trinity girls basketball team opened the evening’s events with a strong win over LIS-newcomer Veritas. The girls offense featured strong shooting from long-range.
Caroline Heaton ’19 sang the national anthem before a packed Estes Athletic Center— then the student section was alive with spirit and sportsmanship for the VPL cross-town rivalry game.
Among the fans in the stands was a strong showing from young alumni home from college. Featuring support from young-alumni musicians, the Pep Band kept the Titan spirit high all evening. Following the game, Trinity alumni were invited to gather off-campus for food and merriment.
At halftime, the undefeated fall 2018 Titan Field Hockey team was presented with their VISAA state-championship banner. As a surprise to Head Coach Margie Vaughan Snead ’85, alumni from the previous state-championship team presented the banner at midcourt.
The boys team got out to an early lead with pressure defense and quick scoring, capping off the evening with a decisive win over St. Christopher’s.
