TItans hoist LIS trophy for fourth consecutive year
FROM THE RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH (Nov. 2, 2017):
"Addie Nash was the savior two times over.
After a sluggish first half of play from the Trinity Episcopal field hockey team, Nash served up a rocket of a goal off a penalty corner midway through the second half to tie Thursday’s LIS championship against St. Catherine’s 1-1.
After the remainder of regulation and a 10-minute overtime period went scoreless, Nash struck again as the final shootout participant, beating Saints goalie Kalli Wagnon for a second time and giving the Titans a 3-2 shootout advantage for the victory.
The championship is the team’s fourth consecutive LIS title and the third earned against the Saints.
“I think that speaks a lot to our coach (Margie Snead) because we lose key players each year, and we have to build on from there,” said Nash, a senior. “It shows that we don’t rely on one person. We’re a team that’s built off of each other, and we work together.”
