Procedures and Required Forms for Return to Summer Activities (Monday, July 13)

Trinity Students and Families:

As we look toward a return to activities, please understand that the process of reopening for summer will require the cooperation of all of us. By working together, we can reduce the risk to ourselves and to others, when returning to campus.

The following guidelines apply to what the school, students, and families must do to participate in summer activities. (Reopening school for classes in the fall will require  additional safety precautions — and you can expect more information later this month regarding the specifics around reopening in August.)

For July, we have outlined procedures for student and staff to mitigate campus infections. The school’s plan meets or exceeds the safety guidelines of local, state and federal authorities, required under Virginia’s Phase Three reopening plan. However, we must all do our part to keep everyone safe as we return to summer campus activities. One day, our operations will return to normal, but in the meantime, community members must remain committed to the safety of others by adhering to school policies to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

To that end,

The school will:
  • Meet or exceed all of the local, state and federal guidelines that are applicable to opening under Phase Three for Virginia.

Students/Families must:
  • participate fully in our temperature and symptom screening measures
  • keep a child home if they are sick
  • wear a mask upon arrival, when in any building (only for bathroom or emergency situations) and upon leaving — and maintain a strict social distance when not wearing a mask
  • cooperate with all of the school’s safety measures
  • notify our school nurse, Suzanne Winefordner (804-672-4956 or suzannewinefordner@trinityes.org), if you or a member of your family becomes ill, and the student will quarantine for 14 days
  • clean cloth face masks regularly
  • engage in frequent hand washing on and off campus as an important step to reduce infection
  • not share personal items
  • pick up your child promptly if they become ill at school (please be sure to include two additional emergency contacts who are able to pick your student up should they become ill)
  • limit parents, siblings, and guests to vehicles and pick up areas to reduce the number of people on campus.  Students only are permitted on fields and viewing areas (all buildings remain closed to students and parents).
We look forward to seeing students on campus this summer. Between the school’s efforts and your own, we can go a long way towards safeguarding the health of our school community. Although all risk can not be eliminated, by working together we can do what is right for our community and for Virginia.

If your student is participating in summer activities, please sign and return this form acknowledging you understand your responsibilities and the risk associated with returning to campus. Email the signed forms to annaprillaman@trinityes.org and markhall@trinityes.org or bring a hard copies when you arrive for your first workout.

Students planning on participating in optional Summer Strength and Conditioning Outdoor Workouts, beginning Monday, July 13, must sign up in PowerSchool to be added to a group roster:
  • Sign up for your group time in PowerSchool under “Forms.” Click on “Strength and Conditioning Sign Up” and select your group.
  • Outdoor workout groups will be limited to 30 students. Whichever group you sign up for will be your group for the three weeks with very limited opportunity to transition groups.
  • Daily check-in will take place at the concession stand between the senior parking lot and the upper practice field. Athletes must arrive 15-20 minute early to allow for check-in procedures. Athletes may be turned away if they are tardy.
