College Counseling Update: May 1st Enrollment Deadline; April 9 Senior Class Meeting

Seniors:
Enrollment Deadline Dates: May 1st is the traditional, nationally recognized deadline for seniors to commit to their chosen colleges.

Students may demonstrate their intention to enroll by providing a monetary deposit. This deposit confirms acceptance of the college’s offer to enroll. When a deposit is made, you have secured your spot in the class of 2024. In most cases, this moves you forward with the college’s housing department, orientation and course registration process.
Please pay attention to the recent messages that colleges are sharing with you — in light of recent world events, some colleges (approximately 300 nation-wide) have extended this deadline to June 1st, and others may still want a decision by May 1st. If you and your family need more time, it is imperative that you contact your college’s admissions office. Most colleges are open to a student’s request for a deadline extension — but a written request is often a required step for this consideration.

You should know that college admission offices are offering various types of connection opportunities. They have a staff that can answer your questions, respond to emails, conduct virtual meetings, and of course answer phone calls.
