Morning Meeting

Community, responsibility, individual attention all in the first 15 minutes of the day.
Imagine what Trinity accomplishes in a semester, a year or a high school career.
Every day at 7:50 a.m., all 500 Trinity students gather in the Perkinson Arts Center Theatre with faculty and staff. "Good morning, please stand," the student leader of the day says after the opening bell rings, and all rise for the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer. Elected members of the Student Government Association preside over the Morning Meeting and acknowledge anyone who wants to make an announcement. Students congratulate classmates on college acceptances, report on the previous day's athletic victories and defeats or simply tell a corny joke. Teachers give reminders about assignments or announce lunchtime concerts on the outdoor stage. Club meetings and activities are announced and all students and teachers are applauded on their birthday. After Morning Meeting, the Head of School stands in the courtyard and greets students on their way to first period.

Community, responsibility, individual attention all in the first 15 minutes of the day. Imagine what Trinity accomplishes in a semester, a year or a high school career. In fact, Morning Meeting is the Trinity tradition most often cited by students and alumni as the defining experience of their high school career. The chance to come together each morning to share highs and lows, victories and defeats, joys and concerns, provides a daily foundation for Trinity's uniquely strong community.
