A detailed description of the Trinity Community Service requirement can be found in the Student Handbook.

Students are reminded that projects must be approved in advance.  Students can check the list on the website or submit a Community Service Project – Approval form (rtf or pdf) to the community service coordinator.

Parents, Teachers, and outside agencies may also submit approval forms.  As appropriate, opportunities will be posted on the website, on the Community Service bulletin board, or announced in morning meeting.

Community Service hours will be recorded via the Community Service Hours – Record form (rtf or pdf) to the community service coordinator.  In general the form is to be turned in within 30 days of the first date of service.  Summer hours must be submitted by 30 September.  For on-going projects (e.g. Rescue Squad), the form must be turned in within 14 days of the last date of service and should span no more than three months of service.

A few reminder to students:
  • Make sure projects are approved in advance.  Normally projects must be associated with a non-profit (501(c)3,4, or 19) or govermental organization.  Traditionally an exception is made for hospitals.
  • Turn forms in on time.
  • Your yearly requirement must be completed by the beginning of Spring Break.
  • In any given year at most half of your credit may come from Direct Service to the school. (e.g. If you do 30 hours of Trinity Recycling and 10 hours for the SPCA, you will only receive 20 hours credit for the year.)
  • The following are the maximum number of hours that can be credited:
40 hours per non-school week
18 hours per school week
8 hours per non-school day
3 hours per school day (excluding hours in lieu of school)

Please refer any questions to the community service coordinator, Dianne Monaco.   During the summer please e-mail her at  communityservice@trinityes.org.
