Are you a math person, or a verbal person? Frankly, we
don't
care-because the Mathematics Department at Trinity refuses to accept
that concept and that bias. We know that anybody can be a "math
person," given the right approach to the subject.

An
understanding and love of math is not gender-based or prohibited to
future English majors. And contrary to popular opinion, yes, you will
use your geometry and algebra and calculus for the rest of your lives.
Math is a way of thinking and seeing, and that's the way we teach it -
to develop an appreciation for logic, and for the applications of
mathematics in the real world.
Our approach is also designed to prepare
students well for
their study of mathematics in college. Ours is a cohesive and
challenging curriculum that develops logical thought processes and
explores many different approaches to problem solving. It is our goal
to have students view mathematics as achievable, fun, useful and
interesting.
