History Whoever said history was dead white men? History is not dead at Trinity - in fact, to paraphrase William Faulkner, it's not even past. Bringing history alive, bringing it to the present, is a powerful way to widen the student's world view and promote an understanding of the way the world, leadership, economics, politics and governments-not to mention human nature-work. Understanding the move toward a truly global economy and economic interdependence, the department incorporates current international history with our western heritage in order for students to develop a useful and working base of core knowledge about the world in which they live. The global perspective is enhanced, too, by Trinity's participation in the International Baccalaureate program.

Opportunities to define and explore the role of involved citizens in a republic are provided through Model United Nations, Organization of American States, Model General Assembly, Model Judiciary, Youth in Government, Youth Policy Forum and Mock Election Initiatives, Debate, Student Congress, Fed Challenge and Forensics.

Our history curriculum is a college preparatory program that exceeds both state and national standards. It also recognizes that students develop at different speeds, and it provides multiple options at every grade and interest level.
