This further develops the basic skills of speaking, listening, writing
and reading learned in German 1. The German video series Focus Deutsch
and its accompanying material are used to give the students an
authentic picture of the German-speaking culture. This class will
be taught in German whenever practical and the students will
participate in interactive activities aimed at enhancing their language
skills.
The format of this class is often interactive, and priority is placed
on student participation through communicative activities.
Respect, courtesy and acceptance of each other are all important
to help create an atmoshpere where students feel comfortable
participating. Students are expected to take an active role in their own learning.

Grading
Classroom Participation: 25%
Homework: 25%
Quizzes and Tests: 50%
Assignments in the workbook (Arbeitsheft) will earn 100% if done on time
and 0% if it is late. Other assignments will have 10 points
deducted for each day they are late. Only excused absences will
not affect the grade. Generally, homework after an excused
absence is due on the first day back. Certain exceptions for prolonged absence may
apply. See me in each case.
